Event Spaces at the Carnegie

Located in the heart of downtown Turlock, the Carnegie Arts Center is available for any special occasion or meeting. Whether you’re planning a wedding, intimate reception, corporate event or fundraising gala, the Carnegie is the ideal setting to make your occasion a memorable experience.

The Carnegie Arts Center offers a variety of event spaces to accommodate events for 20-400 guests. The facilities are perfect for gala events, business meetings, private parties or wedding receptions.  The Loft is ideal for large events and those requiring high-quality audio and video; the Gemperle Gallery offers historic ambience and charm for smaller parties; the Ferrari Gallery shows world-class and regionally important art to impress and entertain your guests; the Bethel and Garton Studios are perfect for intimate meetings or children’s birthday parties.  All venue rentals include tables and chairs, media equipment, and staff representatives available for your assistance. The Carnegie Arts Center offers the following event spaces and features:

  • Features a variety of changing art exhibits for a uniquely engaging experience
  • 3,000 square feet
  • Seated dining: 100-150 guests (depending on the exhibition)
  • Standing reception: 250 guests

  • Historic space located on the upper level of the original Carnegie Library building
  • Hardwood floors, traditional woodwork, elegant arched windows
  • Projector and screen available for media presentations
  • 2,000 square feet
  • Seated dining: 96 guests
  • Standing reception: 250 guests
  • Theatre style: approximately 100 guests (depending on layout)

The Loft

  • Rentals may include theatre-quality lighting and sound, along with a trained technician on site
  •  Projector and screen available for media presentations
  • Two small dressing rooms with private restroom facilities
  •  2,500 square feet
  •  Seating dining: 160 guests
  •  Standing reception: 350 guests
  • Theatre style: approximately 200 guests (depending on layout)

Gala-68Hilmar Cheese Company Lobby

  • Spacious atrium with a glass wall facing the outdoor Plaza
  •  May be rented separately or in conjunction with rental of the  Ferrari Gallery, Gemperle Gallery, or Loft
  • 1,400 square feet
  •  Standing reception: 115 guests

Outdoor Plaza

  • Can be rented in conjunction with other rental spaces for larger functions and to provide an outdoor area for seating or overflow
  • Features built-in bench/wall seating and raised platform/stage area for performers
  • Ground-level lighting and beautiful trees and shrubs
  •  May be rented separately for special events or acoustic concerts

Garton Family Studio and Jennifer Bethel Studio

  • Classroom spaces ideal for small group meetings, birthday parties, or special art projects
  • Each room is 900 square feet
  • May rent one or both rooms at a time
  • Includes work sinks for clean-up
  • Rooms share a private restroom
  • Can be set up with tables and chairs
  • Meeting set up: 40 guests
  • Classroom set up: 30 guests
  • Bethel Studio opens onto outdoor Rotary Patio
