Valley Focus: En Plein Air
February 16 – May 22, 2027

Since the mid-19^th century, artists have ventured beyond their studios to paint out of doors, exploring and experimenting with light, color, and mood as they work directly in nature. The French term en plein air is used to describe this practice of creating quickly, on the spot, capturing the specifics of a view in real time.  This method encompasses a variety of media – including oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor – and can take place in the countryside, on the beach, on a city street, or in the artist’s own backyard. In this exhibition, the focus is on the artists of California’s Central Valley and the ways they interpret the landscape, creating works that express their individual styles and perspectives.

Youth Art Exhibition
June 1 – June 26, 2027

Students in grades K-12 submit their artwork for this annual non-competitive display of youthful talents.

Carnegie Art showcase
July 6 – September 4, 2027

Annually receiving over 300 entries, a panel of three judges will select the very best works for display in the Carnegie Art Showcase exhibition. This juried exhibition is a celebration of artistic excellence. Artists from across a wide range of California communities submit paintings, watercolors, drawings, ceramics, wood, photographs, fiber arts, collage, and other mixed media. The exhibition is always highly anticipated and will be a feast for the eyes!

Our Sierra: Works by David & Vivian Patton
October 13, 2026 – January 23, 2027

Groveland-based artists David & Vivian Patton create work that reflects their personal experience living in the Mother Lode and Sierra foothills. Inspired by the landscape, history, and wildlife around them, their artwork in pastels and photographs brings the beauty of the region to life.

About Faces
February 2 – April 24, 2027

This juried exhibition will highlight artists who capture the uniqueness of faces and figures. Selected by juror Don Hall, an artist well known in the Central Valley for his self-portraits, the exhibition will feature a gallery of works in all media showing personalities, emotions, and histories.

May 4 – July 31, 2027

Farms & Fields is an annual exhibition that celebrates the variety and importance of agriculture in the Central Valley. Here in California's heartland, we produce over 360 products, including fruit, nuts, livestock, dairy, and vegetables. The bounty of the region is always represented not only by the variety of subjects depicted, but also in the number of artists featured and the wide range of creative media included.

Yosemite Renaissance 42
August 10 – October 9, 2027

This annual traveling exhibition celebrates the ongoing legacy of art created in and about Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Sierra region. With new works each year, curated from over 700 entries from artists across the country, the exhibition delights and amazes with fresh perspectives on this majestic and iconic place.
