Carnegie Arts Showcase 2026
July 7 – August 29, 2026

From a record-breaking 312 entries, jurors have selected 94 works that are on display in the annual Carnegie Art Showcase. The juried exhibition is a celebration of artistic excellence, awarding a total of $2,350 in prize money. Works in all media were submitted by artists from Central California and beyond. The final group selected for the exhibition includes works by 64 artists representing 29 different California communities.

The competition is open to entries in all media, which this year include paintings, watercolors, drawings, pastels, prints, ceramics, wood, photographs, fiber arts, collage, mixed media, and installation works. The exhibition always represents the wide range of creativity that can be found in the visual arts of this region. We are reaching more artists every year and seeing an increasing variety in the works we get to feature. Many established regional artists can be seen in the show, but the opportunity also attracts young artists and draws in artists from farther afield.  Several artists are appearing in the CAC galleries for the first time, and this is what makes the show unique and exciting every year.

Gallery Talks with some of the award-winning artists will be held on July 23 and August 27 at 6 p.m.

Judges for the 2026 Art Showcase were:

John Karl Claes, painter
