The Carne
gie Arts Center will present its first Children’s Art Exhibition in Downtown Turlock this Summer.
Children in grades K-8 are invited to present their creative work to the public in the Carnegie’s Ferrari Gallery, a museum-quality exhibition space. See below for rules and procedures for participating in this unique opportunity.
Fees
Non-refundable entry fee is $1 per work for members of the CAC; $2 per work for non-members. Each artist may enter only one (1) work in each category.
Categories & Awards
Works in all media will be accepted in one of three (3) categories:
- Painting
- Drawing Sculpture & Ceramics
- Photography & Digital Art
Acknowledgements will be made for use of color, use of technique/material, and overall creativity.
How to Enter
Visit the website at www.CarnegieArtsTurlock.org and click on the link for exhibitions to access an entry form, or an entry form may be picked up at the CAC information desk. All entry forms must be completed and returned to the CAC with the artwork on receiving dates. Payments may be made by cash/check/credit card in person at the CAC.
Delivery & Pick-up
All artwork must have a completed entry form and be delivered to the CAC in Turlock at the address above. Deliveries will be received on the following dates:
- Friday, May 8, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Sunday, May 10, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
No deliveries will be accepted at any other time.
Works included in the exhibition must be picked up from the CAC on the following dates:
- Saturday, August 15, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Sunday, August 16, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Thursday, August 20, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Friday, August 21, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Any works not picked up within seven (7) days following the close of the exhibition will become the property of the Carnegie Arts Center Foundation and may be disposed of in any manner at the sole discretion of the organization.
Exhibition Details
The exhibition will be on view from May 20 through August 14, 2015. Gallery hours at the Carnegie Arts Center are:
10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday; 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday
Admission to the exhibition is free to the public; donations are strongly encouraged.
Reception
An artists’ reception will be held on Friday, May 22, from 7-8:30 p.m. All artists, their families, and the public are invited to attend.
Rules:
- Entries must be the original work of the artist. No copies, facsimiles, or pre-printed coloring pages will be
- Artists must be attending school or eligible to attend school in grades K-8 as of May
- Artists or their legal guardian must reside in the areas of Turlock, Denair, Ballico, Keyes, Ceres, Hughson, Patterson, Newman, Crows Landing, Hilmar, Delhi,
- By submitting an entry the parent/guardian of the artist acknowledges that she/he will comply with all rules, regulations, and deadlines of the
- All works must be dry and ready to install. Works on paper and photographs should be mounted to construction paper, poster board or mat board. Works on canvas may be framed or unframed. No glass or Plexiglas will be
- No entry, once accepted for the exhibition, may be removed prior to the official closing date as set forth in the entry
