Artist Talk: Steve Dzerigian
November 8, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm
| FreeJoin us for an Artist Talk with Fresno based photographer Steve Dzerigian. Weaving history, philosophy, and the natural world with artmaking, Dzerigian has a unique perspective on our ever-changing landscape. Tulare lake was once the largest body of water west of the Mississippi. Over time, diversion of water from the lake, along with many drought years, resulted in it virtually disappearing. In 2023 — a very wet year– the lake returned for a while. Dzerigian’s photographs illustrate the phases of change experienced during the return of the lake, expressing the beauty as well as the complications of this natural phenomenon.
The talk will be followed by a free, public reception.
