VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Do you enjoy looking at art and engaging with people? You may be a great fit as a Gallery Attendant!

Requirements:

  • Friendly demeanor
  • Observant & detail oriented
  • Casual attire

Shifts available Tuesday through Saturday

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Are you good with people? You may be a great fit as an Information Desk Volunteer!

At the Information Desk our volunteers do it all― from customer service to gift shop sales and light clerical duties.

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Quick learner
  • Casual attire

Flexible shifts are available Tuesday- Saturday. The more you are here in this role, the more you’ll be able to learn and do.

Do you enjoy music, theater, poetry, or art? You may be a great fit as an Event & Program Volunteer!

The CAC’s Events and Programs vary widely –

  • Concerts
  • Theater Productions
  • Poetry Readings
  • Film Screenings
  • Lectures & Gallery Talks
  • Family Art Activities
  • Receptions, Fundraising Events & Parties
  • Off-site Community Events

Our Event & Program Volunteers work at the events that interest them! Duties may include anything from set-up, customer service, and refreshments, to assisting with a variety of fun art activities. Since each event has some unique elements, volunteers receive training or instruction prior to the events they work and are usually assigned specific responsibilities (based on interest and ability).

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude & team player
  • Understanding & following directions
  • Flexible schedule for evening & weekend events
  • Casual attire (for most events & programs)

Do you love art and enjoy working with children? You may be a great fit as a Docent!

Docents play a crucial role in fulfilling our educational mission. With school field trips scheduled in the Fall (September-December) and Spring (February-May), Docents receive at least 3 hours of exhibition-specific training each semester. As a Docent you may choose to guide school groups on visits to exhibitions and/or lead school groups in hands-on art activities. Docents make the CAC a leader in Arts Education for our region! With more than 2,500 school children making their way through our galleries each year, having a dedicated, talented, and engaged docent team makes all the difference. We provide the training; you provide the passion!

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Interest in understanding the basics of art appreciation & art history (training will be provided)
  • Prior experience working with school age children desirable, but not required
  • Available to work a weekday schedule (school tours are typically scheduled from 9-10:30 a.m. & from 12-1:30 p.m., Tuesday-Friday)
